About me
As a youngster I had a genuine love for technology and music.
I joined a few Bands (still in one Named The Malakites) and discovered audio technology and I was hooked immediately.
it wasn’t until my late teens when I realised that sound engineering was the career for me.
I attended University of Gloucester and finished this year with a degree in sound and music production specialising in live events and audio.
I am a hardworking, quick thinking engineer with a genuine passion for live music and doing the best job possible as it would be a disservice to you and myself if I didn’t.
my work centres around creating clear and intelligent and energetic mixes utilising microphones, mixing desks and processing.
I maintain a strict rule of keeping things as simple as possible to avoid any mid show catastrophe.
I aim to make the artist / client as comfortable as possible by making the technical side of the job as smooth and simple as possible so they can focus on performing.
keeping the stage tidy, clear labelling and cable management all contribute to this ethos.
I was brought up in Cardiff in a welsh speaking household and was taught to love music by my parents who share the passion with me.
I have been engineering numerous gigs during my time in university at grassroots venues, AV broadcasting, arena shows and festivals. working hard to achieve a diverse knowledge in live events technology.
whilst specialising in live events, I am also an extremely capable studio engineer for tracking and mixing and am proficient in Pro Tools, Ableton, Logic and Reaper.
I look forward to meeting you and discussing all your Audio needs.
work ethic And approach
I learnt a lot on tour with Chase and Status with Southby audio being able to see the best in the business at what they do.
I saw first hand how essential being organised, keeping things streamlined and simple is for a successful show, especially during build and break.
After university lectures and working with other engineers I have developed my own workflow that is adaptive efficient and coherent, that allows me to get the job done within the time constraints.
Experience
As a live sound engineer I have gained experience at arena shows on tour with chase and status working in venues like Birmingham Utilia Arena, London 02 and Cardiff International Arena.
I’ve worked on a multitude of festivals Like We Out Here and Cheltenham Jazz festival including small independent ones like noizzee fest.
I have a lot of experience working as a monitor engineer and patch engineer on larger scales, however in Grassroots venues I am extremely capable of doing all three roles if necessary.
I took advantage of my time in uni to teach myself Dolby Atmos mixing workflows and applied this in my final major project.
In my live events module I was graded as a monitor engineer for which I earn’t a high mark.
